Bauchi state police chief Mohammed Ladan said an improvised explosive device went off late Sunday in the city of Bauchi.
Nigerian Red Cross official Adamu Abubakar said a three-month-old baby is among the wounded.
The blast came two days after an explosion went off near a popular nightclub in the capital Abuja, but left no one hurt.
The attacks come amid growing violence blamed on a radical Islamist sect in Africa's most populous nation.
The sect known as Boko Haram wants Islamic Shariah law? which opposes the consumption of alcohol? imposed across Nigeria, a nation of Muslims and Christians.
A trio of beer garden attacks last year killed 25 people in the sect's spiritual home of Maiduguri.
